What are Diecast Cars?

Diecast cars are miniature replicas of real-world cars, usually made from a zinc or lead alloy using a die-casting process by pouring molten metal or plastic into a mold to create a specific shape. The molds are called dies, which are made of steel and consist of a fixed half and a movable half. They come in a variety of scales, or sizes, that represent the ratio of the model to the real car. The most popular scale is 1/64, which is about 3 inches long. Other scales include 1/18, which is 18 times smaller than the real car.

Although collecting diecast model cars is a popular and rewarding hobby, it's worth remembering that they are collectables, and it is important to enjoy ownership of your collection. Diecast model cars are only of 'value' to a collector or someone who wants them.
